Astrology Is for RealBut It Takes a Complete Chart and a Good Astrologer to Make It Work
Astrology tips offered in newspapers and magazines are very incomplete. One's sun sign is nowhere near enough to be of any guidance or insight to you or your destiny.
It takes a complete astrology chart, or map of the solar system at your birth to be of value. This map includes the sun, the moon, and all the other planets. Then there is what is called the rising sign. Years ago, an astrologer had to be a bit of a mathematician to cast charts. They were done long hand with the aid of an index of planetary placements over time known as an ephemeris. That and an atlas to get exact latitude and longitude as well as time zone for the birthplace. An astrologer today is usually equipped with software that enables him or her to have this chart cast easily and quickly. Casting Your ChartThe astrologer will need your exact time of birth as well as your birthplace. If you can't find a birth certificate, then ask mom! From that exact time, your rising sign placement on this map is determined. In western astrology, the map is a wheel that has 12 equally divided sections known as houses. From the placement of the rising sign, all the other planets, the moon, and the sun are placed into the different houses. Each house has a basic significance, as does each planet. Those placements of the planets in the houses and how they relate are important. Within each house there are placement degrees to locate exactly where in each house the planet or sun or moon resides. From that, lines are drawn among and between all those solar bodies. The configurations of angles and oppositions are then seen. All of these items have significance and impact your reading. Reading Your Astrology ChartThere are a lot of online services that can offer computerized printouts. There can even be one in your area. These printouts will include text interpretations of all those areas mentioned in the last section. The focus is mostly on who you and what you're about. Personality and character traits as well as tendencies and talents you have can be printed out. It is a good start if you're curious. You may find an item or two that maybe only you vaguely knew about, which could prove astrology's validity to you. But the best way to get a good reading is from a competent astrologer. You can also find one online if you don't have any references in your area. Your chart can be emailed to you and a phone appointment set up. The phone consultation will be recorded and sent to you so you can review it later. What May Be RevealedA good astrologer has to be well-trained, with a great deal of experience reading and studying astrological charts. Astrology has collected enough data over hundreds, maybe thousands of years to be considered scientific. But reading a chart takes that knowledge a step further. One must be able to connect the dots and see a big picture, as well as resolve apparent dichotomies. It takes a special skill, part scientific and part intuitive. A skilled astrologer sees things the computerized printouts don't. Sometimes those printouts will offer contradictions that a good astrologer can see through and resolve. You can get an idea of your life path, your character strengths and weakness's, and what to avoid and what to embrace. Predictive advice really has to do with when certain energies and dynamics will be better or worse for particular activities and endeavors. The point is to learn when to strike and when to retreat, as well as how best to deal with yourself and others. Astrology offers insight and guidance. But the choices are still yours.
